New Year – New Story

Posted on December 31, 2017

A story is best told eye to eye, mind to mind and heart to heart. I was delighted in December to be accepted onto the directory of The Scottish Storytelling Forum. Inspired by spending time with storytellers on various projects since my return to Scotland 4 years ago I started my storytelling apprenticeship 3 years ago. It has been an honour and a pleasure to meet so many amazing storytellers, mentors and fellow apprentices from all walks of life.

I have been working on a variety of projects that have involved sharing stories and writing stories over the past year as a project manager and as the curator of The Thrive Archive. This autumn I have been working on A Voyage of Discovery training sea scouts to become Story Pilots at Trinity House Maritime Museum in Leith.

A steampunk twist to tales told with fellow apprentice Maria MacDonell on Stories from Smokey Brae and some festive Merrie Tales. Both events were free to the public and helped to celebrate the amazing creative community at St Margaret’s House in Edinburgh.
