My Work

Specialising in telling hidden human stories through textiles and historic collections Jan Bee has a portfolio career over 25 years crossing boundaries in the arts from Theatre and Costume Design and Fine Art Textiles through Education and Curation.

In 2009 Jan Bee transferred her skills into curation.  Working with Scarborough Museums Trust as Curator of Exhibitions she planned, researched, designed and implemented 4 original exhibitions celebrating the eclectic art and social history collections whilst hosting and managing a three year touring exhibitions programme to develop new audiences including the East Coast Open exhibitions in 2009 and 2011.

Jan Bee graduated from Central St Martins in 1987 and has spent over  25 years designing for new writers in Theatre throughout Europe.  In 2005 she took a two year break from Theatre and was awarded my MA Artist Teacher (with distinction) from John Moores University in 2005 and a PGCE in 2007.

Jan Bee has over 8 years experience in education lecturing at HE level in art, textiles, design and costume history. She has also delivered arts workshops and talks in schools, in the community and in museums and galleries.
