After gaining her MA Artist – Teacher in 2005 Jan went on to complete a PGCE in Art and Design both from John Moores University.

Jan has taught drama and design and art at secondary, further and higher level. She was an external assessor for Edinburgh College of Art BA Performance Costume 2006-2009 and guest lectures in design at York University’s Department of Drama and Television Production.

As a textile artist, curator and theatre designer Jan Bee Brown has developed a series of talks and lectures.  The talks are aimed at degree students and life long learners but can be adapted for secondary students of design and technology, drama and art.  The talks can include a digital presentation, handouts, research aids and recommended reading list as well as a chance to handle some historical textiles and costume drawings or try a textile technique.

Jan can also tailor a bespoke lecture on a particular collection of paintings, costumes or artists.
