Please take a trip through my work

Dear Uncle, a translation of Uncle Vanya by Sir Alan Ayckbourn

Set in the Lake District in the 1930′s this was a glorious production to design with a stella cast directed by Sir Alan at The Stephen Joseph Theatre. All photos by Tony Bartholomew. “The furniture is just right, costumes are scrumptious and the lighting is classically simple. This production is a total joy.” Observer

Hats for entwined

Marlene

Sarah Parks is stunning as Marlene Dietrich at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, a pleasure to work with a great cast and costume maker Julia Mook

Fire storm

Whilst I was exhibiting TLC in Hannover I went to search out vintage textiles only to find that they are a rare following the blanket bombing of the city in the second World War

Tender Loving Care

TLC was the final project for my MA, it features film, felt and text to interpret a story that had been hidden from subsequent generations of women in my own family.

Drowned and Found

Drowned and Found In the churchyard of Robin Hood’s Bay lie the bodies of countless sailors lost at sea.  Washed ashore or found in the fishing nets their bodies were unidentifiable.

Make Do and Mend

Make do and Mend was a burlesque project based on the story of my Aunt Hilda who worked for Cammell Lairds ship builders during the war in their technical drawing office.
